Happy Home...

The wait is over. We finally got all our things moved in and ordered to our taste. Javin spent the morning moving the last of our trash boxes out and sweeping/vacuuming. So that was a nice surprise when I got out of bed.

This is our master bedroom, complete with new red duvet and furniture from my brother.

Our dresser, I love the big mirror and how many drawers we have. After living our of suitcases for almost a month, I am in drawer heaven!!!!!

This is our guest bedroom, awaiting visitors! Also, Javin covered our ugly Army issue closet. He's a regular Martha Stewart.

Our kitchen table. It looks sort of small next to the big windows. We are looking forward to having friends over for dinner sometime soon.

This is my kitchen. It doesn't have a whole lot of cabinet space so we had to store some of our things for later use! But it is really big in area.

Javin is going to build me an island to go here, but for now we are using this sweet little cabinet for a pantry.

The living room entertainment center, Thanks Jeff's Friend! It is perfect and fits all our movies and TV just right! Also, I can't wait to sit in the chair and read my kindle and look out the windows! Doesn't it look so inviting?

And our lovely red sofa, thanks to Toni's friend! Very comfortable.
Needless to say, Jeff and Toni furnished out first home. It is lovely and we couldn't be more happy with our "stuff".

Javin played in a softball tournament tonight and has staff duty a for 24 hours tomorrow. So it will just me and the apartment until Sunday. It's nice to be able to walk around and find places for pictures and "sit arounds" to go. We are having fun!

Our Stuff...

Our stuff arrived on Friday May, 17th. The moves came about 8 o'clock in morning and had everything moved in by about 1. Three men moved all our belongings up stairs and then left us to unpack.

This is what was visible of our kitchen when the left.

Here is a special delivery straight from my parents. Labeled "open me first", it was in the first thing we opened! So bonus.

Here is another view of our kitchen.

And about half the boxes they brought up. I didn't know we had this much stuff.

Our entertainment center, which Javin promptly hooked up our TV and surround sound. Then spent a few hours alphabetizing our 230 movies.

 Our first glimpse of furniture!!!!

 There is the moving truck!

 Our second glimpse of furniture!!!!

We have unpack and repacked a lot but are still not quit finished. It is strange unpacking things that you haven't seen since March. I didn't realize we had so many things. Somethings are not being used and will have to wait until we have a bigger house with more room. Others are out but only for decoration (Javin doesn't understand "Don't use these towels, they are nice!"). We will post more pictures when we get everything in a place.

Cabin Fever...

I like to call it European Fever....We gave nothing and I am living out of a suitcase (or 3).
Here is out bedroom, so depressing....only a bed!
And our kitchen, same story....new chapter!
 Oh and again...nothing!!!!!!!!
It is so depressing sitting in a house all day with no furniture, no tv, not even a thing to clean! And yes I would love to be able to clean something right now....anything! I spend my days sleeping in til noon and playing Webkinz on the computer, you are welcome for your new fortune Konner!

Stuff gets here friday!

Amberg...

Today Javin and I rented a car and drove about 25km to Amberg. See our sweet new ride!
Here's the key, it's the craziest thing. You take this little flat thing and put it in a slot in the car and press a button to turn the car on. Greatness!

In Amberg, we went to the inner city. This is the old city that is still surrounded by the original wall that protected it from outsiders. Inside was St. Martin's Church. We couldn't go down the isle. They keep it gated off.
This river reminds me of the one we crossed in Bamberg a few years ago, don't you think mom?
This is the outside steeple of St. Martin's.
This church sit atop a hill about 2km northwest of town. It has a beautiful view of Amberg down below.
Unfortunately they were just beginning their friday evening mass, so we didn't stay!

They have outside worship sometimes. Kinda cool!
After we look around the church, we stopped and had some dinner at the restaurant right there. It is asparagus season here and most restaurants have a special "spargel" menu. This is Spragel Creme, basically cream of asparagus soup. So Yummy.
I never really know exactly what I am going to get when I order around here. This is the Kalter Platte. It was cold roast beef. Very good. Someone must have been watching over me, cause if I had gotten a whole fish I might have passed out!

We received our new mattress today and are expecting a few more things to be delivered tomorrow. Javin got an email at dinner that said our stuff was here and in storage and could be delivered on the 17th!!!!! UGH, two more weeks. We will see if my sweet husband can sweet talk them into getting it here faster! That's it for now.

P.S. The internet also said our car has touched ground in Bremerhaven Port in western Germany!!!!!
